Biomarker Development
M2Gen houses the world’s largest cancer-focused biorepository linked to longitudinal clinical and molecular data. Our biomarker development program was created to help diagnostic companies discover, validate and commercialize biomarkers. The discovery of these biomarkers has enabled significant commercial success in the biopharmaceutical industry.
Biomarkers are biological molecules that indicate a particular disease state. They reveal the status of particular diseases and may identify predisposition to positive or negative responses in therapy. M2Gen can best identify and validate these genomic signatures and in turn further the advancement of personalized medicine by helping healthcare companies produce more effective treatments for individual cancer patients.
There are three types of biomarkers measured before treatment: (1) Diagnostic, which help classify patients and determine appropriate treatment; (2) Prognostic, which indicate long-term outcomes for patients who are either untreated or receiving standard treatment; and (3) Predictive, which identify the patients that will benefit from a particular treatment. M2Gen’s biomarker development program can provide clients with access to a variety of data sets and essential tools hypothesis development and testing. Our resources include extensive clinical and molecular profiling data, frozen and FFPE tissue, and bioinformatics research services.
