CEO Message

Thank you for visiting M2Gen®. With the support of our parent, Moffitt Cancer Center, our goal as a for-profit business is to work with our industry collaborators to bring more effective, personalized cancer treatment to market faster and dramatically improve patient survival. We do this by helping our biopharmaceutical partners discover new leading edge therapies, accelerate patients into the right clinical trials and reduce the use of ineffective treatments. The result is the right treatment for the right patient at the right time – delivered at patient point of care, closer to family and home.

 M2Gen has a unique story.

•           The creation of M2Gen is a superb example of a private-public partnership that has created innovation and jobs in the state of Florida. With the support of Merck & Co. as our Founding Partner and the tremendous support of the City of Tampa, Hillsborough County, and the State of Florida, we have created a Florida-based life science business to serve global healthcare clients and produce measurable scientific insights to accelerate drug candidates through innovative translational medicine approaches.
•           Our association with Moffitt Cancer Center enables us to maintain a focus on patients that is unsurpassed. We are motivated by the ability to visit the Moffitt Cancer Center daily and observe how current knowledge is applied to improve future treatments for patients.
•           We have the world’s largest oncology bio-repository linking patient longitudinal clinical and derived molecular data from human tissue samples. Over 80,000 patients are currently enrolled in the Moffitt Total Cancer Care™ long-term observational research study that will grow exponentially as more than 350 new patients consent each week to share their data and allow us to follow them throughout their lifetime.
•           Our consortium site collaboration model enables participating hospitals and, in the future, medical oncology practices to collect and share patient data for future cancer research purposes. This provides our consortium partners access to results that will help them deliver personalized, more effective treatments delivering maximum value to physicians, partners, clients, and investors.
•           Simply said, our goal is to accelerate science which will provide a foundation for personalized medicine at the point of patient care through identifying a patient’s susceptibility to disease, predicting how the patient will respond to a particular drug, and matching patients to the best therapies for an optimal treatment outcome.

We are aligned with our parent on the mission to ‘Contribute to the Prevention and Cure of Cancer’ with the focus on accelerating discovery and drug development to bring innovative therapies to patients.

Sincerely,
Cathy Kerzner
