Shane Huntsman

Director, Biorepository Operations & TCC Consortium Relations

In his role as Director of Biorepository Operations & TCC Consortium Relations, Mr. Huntsman acts as liasion between the 17 Consortium sites and M2Gen, managing the ongoing success of Moffitt Cancer Center's Total Cancer Care study. Shane has managed the Biorepository Operations of M2Gen since its inception in 2006. He is responsible for eight biorepository specialists, pathologists and project staff overseeing the collection, shipping, processing and storage of the tissue at M2Gen and its participating Consortium members.
 
Mr. Huntsman has more than 15 years experience supervising clinical and research sample collection, processing and analysis. Prior to Moffitt Cancer Center starting its Personalized Cancer Care initiative and forming M2Gen, Mr. Huntsman worked in Moffitt’s Pathology Department and Tissue Core from 1998 until 2006. Prior to joining Moffitt, he worked for military hospitals, large reference laboratories, the American Red Cross and a transplant tissue facility.
 
Mr. Huntsman is a member of the International Society for Biological and Environmental Repositories and has co-authored several publications, including a book chapter on sample collection for melanoma translational research. Mr. Huntsman has a Bachelor of Science in information systems management and has completed graduate studies in public health management and bioethics from the University of South Florida.
